Service Description: This data represents the entity (State/Local Gov) that is responsible for maintaining the roadway segments. Used in City Connecting Link resolutions, HPMS reporting and any other reporting where this data is required. The Bureau of Transportation Planning is responsible for initiating all resolutions designating City Connecting Links. By statute, all cities are responsible for maintenance of city connecting links within their jurisdiction; however, KDOT is receptive to maintaining connecting links in third class cities and/or cities having a population less than 2,000. Any city may request that KDOT maintain the city connecting link. A KDOT Special Maintenance Agreement shall be initiated for those city connecting links which are fully access controlled facilities. It is KDOT's responsibility to initiate the request to enter into the special maintenance agreement. Statutes require KDOT to pay cities a statutory rate for maintaining their city connecting link.
